Amanda Brown has joined the On-the-Mark-it team this fall as part of our physiotherapy staff. Amanda graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2005 and has been working in orthopaedics and sport injury management since this time. She also has an Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Wilfrid Laurier University. Since graduating, Amanda has continued her training through post graduate courses and has completed her Manuel Level 2’s within the Orthopaedic Division. She also practices acupuncture and has completed Part 1, 2a and 3a with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. Amanda has done medical coverage for sporting events such as local volleyball and basketball tournaments, The Provincial Skating Championships, Provincial Curling Championships and the World Transplant Games. Amanda is active in exercise and sports herself and enjoys working out and playing any sport that she can. Her background in dance has maid her keen to work with dancers and those involved in the arts as well. She worked as a personal trainer prior to obtaining her physiotherapy degree and she believes in using manual therapy and exercise when appropriate to treat injury. Amanda loves working with people of all ages and athletes of all levels and is excited to join the On-the-Mark-It therapy team to help as many clients as possible obtain their optimal health and well-being.
Dr. Eva Chan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Logan Chiropractic College in 2008 and also obtained a Master of Sports Science & Rehabilitation. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Physical & Health Education in 1999. She is Certified in Active Release Technique (ART )of the Spine and is a Certified KinesioTaping Practioner. Dr. Chan has worked with athletes in a variety of sports such as track & field, volleyball, soccer, tennis, dragon-boat racing, hockey, wrestling, mixed martial arts, and basketball at the amateur and elite levels. She integrates joint manipulation and soft tissue techniques in the treatment of sports injuries as well as with non sports related conditions. Her main areas of interest within her practice are correcting biomechanical dysfunctions and muscular imbalances, ergonomics, exercise rehabilitation, lifestyle modifications and nutrition. Dr. Chan regularly participates in volleyball, dragon-boat racing, yoga, golf and snowboarding.
Alycia Duff is a Registered Massage Therapist and active member of the Ontario Massage Therapist Association. She is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic in Toronto, and is also currently working towards becoming a certified Personal Trainer. Alycia is experienced in Sports massage and Myofascial Release techniques for injury rehabilitation and prevention. She treats both children and adults with repetitive strain injuries, compression syndromes, soft tissue trauma and chronic pain. Alycia also has additional training in treating patients with spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders. Alycia regularly hosts stretching seminars in tandem with Fit Family Custom Fitness Training. She is a regular participant in the MS walk to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis research and enjoys martial arts and belly dancing classes in her spare time. Jim Chong graduated from Canadian Therapeutic College with a Sports Injury Therapy™ Diploma. The Program combines the skill set of Massage Therapy and the additional critical skill sets from related Sports Medicine Professions. He is also registered with the College of Massage Therapists Ontario, one of this province's health regulatory bodies. Jim has worked with ‘A’ list actors while on film shoots in Toronto and athletes at the Collegiate and AAA level sports of hockey, soccer, judo, and rugby. He currently works at his clinical practice in Toronto and Port Credit. He plans to continue his education with a certification in Active Release Therapy (ART).
